ARKIV 360

Digitization Platform for Cultural Institutions

Led the design and implementation of the electro-mechanical digitization table, ARKIV360, for scanning large format artwork and documents for archival applications, achieving over 100,000+ scans for institutions across Ontario.

Project Contributions:

  • Mechanical, electrical engineering, and firmware development for the table top.

  • Conducted motor sizing calculations and motor selection to ensure smooth operation of the driven load.

  • Created Solidworks models and assemblies, producing mechanical drawings to communicate design intent for each component, including fabrication and assembly steps.

  • Developed the remote control terminal featuring start, stop, power disconnect, and emergency stop buttons.

  • Created detailed schematics, wiring layout, integrated fuses and power regulators, ensuring the system met safety and performance standards, culminating in successful UL certification.
